The perfume we had forgotten
A single note that holds an entire island.
The light of orange blossom, the breath of the sea, the science of the earth.
DO · DawnBarcellona P.G.
38° 09′ N · 15° 13′ E
Neroli · Ciaculli mandarin · blood orange · petitgrain
The neroli opens clear and green, lit by a touch of Ciaculli mandarin and a shadow of blood orange; petitgrain brings out its green bitterness.
Sage
Sage gives the flower an aromatic, dry edge that keeps it away from sweetness.
Labdanum
Labdanum changes the temperature: the material turns warm, resinous, ambered, without taking any transparency from the neroli.
A Sicilian neroli far removed from the freshness of a cologne: green and aromatic at the opening, warm and full-bodied at the drydown.
The forces of the island in a single object
A perfume for the most intimate space of the home.
A base of solid canaletto walnut. A sphere of Etna lava.
A few drops on the pores: the lava holds them, then releases them slowly.
It turns time into a moment.
Some of the sphere’s pores have been filled with 12% pure molten gold.
ProtectionViolet glass
Lava stone
A perfume is a living substance. To keep it intact, the bottle and the stopper must speak the same language. Spezieria entrusts it to two very ancient materials: violet glass and the stone of the volcano.
Biophotonic violet glass, patented by Miron: according to the manufacturer, it protects natural molecules over time better than any other glass.
L'Etna – Eruzione marzo 1910 – Bocca eruttiva principale sotto il M. Castellazzo
Etna lava stone, because it bears the marks of the fire and the gases that have passed through it over time.
Spezieria uses it in the stopper that closes the perfume and in the sphere that releases it.
Etna, the 1910 lava flowNicolosi · 23 March – 18 April 1910Every bottle has a passport. The QR code on the box opens the record of the batch the perfume comes from.
Inside are the raw materials, one by one: origin, supply chain, technical data sheets and certificates.

Seven notes, seven territories, one Sicilian day.
La Scala del 7 is the grammar that orders every fragrance of Spezieria Siciliana: an olfactory scale arranged like a musical scale. Each note is an essence, each essence a territory.
Seven hours of the Mediterranean. One day, transcribed.
Each fragrance is born from the alignment of its coordinates. The territory, the botanical, the colour and the hour change. The grammar stays.
The arc of a Mediterranean day, from dawn to night. Read in sequence, the seven fragrances make up one Sicilian day. DO opens with dawn, SI closes it with night.
Play the scale. Touch a note: its hour of the day lights up the page and its essence declares itself.

Why we collaborate, and why we work together on the R&D project HORTUS OLFACTORIUS.

It does not perfume Sicily. It transcribes it.
Our perfumes go with you.
Today we know how to make anything seem real. That is why the real has become the rarest thing of all. Not the beautiful, not the seductive: the real. And to evoke it is not enough. It must be verifiable.
There are hundreds of thousands of perfumes in the world, yet no one can say how many are free of synthetic aromatic molecules. No one truly knows how many may be called entirely natural.
Spezieria Siciliana was born of that missing number. No molecule that impersonates nature. No origin to conceal. No material without lineage.
Every scent we breathe is a real event. Even a synthetic aroma, when we perceive it, is real matter. To the senses, natural and synthetic may be indistinguishable. But nature brings something synthesis cannot: the truth of origin.
A natural essence leaves a trail and carries its whole history with it. The orange blossom gathered that month. The manna that flowed from that ash tree’s bark. The harvest, never twice the same. The hand that distilled it. A synthetic molecule may be real, but it holds no season, no harvest, no land. Provenance is worth more.
This is why each of our perfumes comes into the world with its own Perfume Passport. Origin, batch, method of extraction, role in the composition, safe use: what the bottle alone cannot tell, the passport sets down. It is the point at which words cease to be a promise and become a record.
We chose Spezieria over profumeria because the word belongs to a time before medicine, food, ritual and perfume went their separate ways – a time when the sense of smell was a way of knowing, not a lure. And Siciliana because our heart lies on this island. We love this orange blossom. This broom of Etna. The manna of the Madonie. The saffron of Caltagirone.
When a base material needed to anchor a composition and make it last cannot be found in Sicily, or no one here can extract it with the rigour it demands, we seek it in those parts of the Mediterranean whose botanical language is closest to our own. We disclose its name, its place of origin and its role, and we work so that, year by year, Sicily may meet more of its own needs.
All of this is a declaration of love for nature, and an acceptance of its variation, its seasons, its limits. The passport embodies this too: provenance and responsibility.
We don’t perfume Sicily. We transcribe it.
